Colour mismatch
The color of the repaired element does not match the original paint of the adjacent parts - a difference that is especially visible at a certain angle of light or in daylight.

Cause
- Color mixed according to an outdated or incorrect recipe - color formulas are updated by manufacturers, old versions produce different effects
- Wrong selection of hardener or thinner - they affect the final shade and metallic effect
- Incorrect working viscosity when sprayed - changes flake orientation and final color
- The toners or base have not been mixed sufficiently before use - a heterogeneous mixture produces a different color
- The color was not checked on the sample before application
- Too many or too few layers of drop base - changes brightness and metallic effect
- Poor gun setting - too much or too little pressure affects the final color tone
- Mixing scale not calibrated or dirty - wrong toner proportions
- Natural aging and fading of the original paint - the repaired element is new and the rest of the car is slightly faded
Prevention
- Always check the color on a test sample before applying it to the element - in daylight and artificial light
- Only use current recipes from the mixing system
- Use hardeners and thinners recommended for a given product - they affect the final color
- Check working viscosity before spraying
- Mix and stir the toners at least twice a day
- Calibrate your mixing scale regularly - once a year by a qualified service technician
- Keep scales and mixing equipment clean
- For older vehicles, take the fading effect into account - tint the color to match the faded original
- Make a color sample and compare it with the original from different angles and in different light before painting the entire element
Repair
- Mattify the top layer of the repaired element
- Mix the color again taking into account the notes from the sample comparison
- Check the color on the sample and, if necessary, correct the recipe or add additional colors
- Reapply and compare with the original
- If the difference is difficult to eliminate - shading onto the adjacent element is recommended for a smooth color transition
